Ethereum Turns 10 — Time to Leave the Trilemma Behind
Decentralized systems like the electric grid and the World Wide Web scaled by solving communication bottlenecks. Blockchains, a triumph of decentralized design, should follow the same pattern, but early technical constraints caused many to equate decentralization with inefficiency and sluggish performance. As Ethereum turns 10 this July, it’s evolved from a developer playground into the backbone of onchain finance. As institutions like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton launch tokenized funds, and banks roll out stablecoins, the question now is whether it can scale to meet global demand—where heavy workloads and millisecond-level response times matter. For all this evolution, one assumption still lingers: that blockchains must trade off between decentralization, scalability, and security. This “blockchain trilemma” has shaped protocol design since Ethereum’s genesis block.The...

Ether Treasuries Target Yield, but Risk Looms, Says Wall Street Broker Bernstein
Ether ETH treasury firms are emerging with a new playbook: Treat the cryptocurrency not just as a reserve asset, but as yield-generating capital. In recent months, several companies have unveiled ether treasury strategies that generate passive yield through ETH staking. These include BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) and SharpLink Gaming (SBET).According to a report from Wall Street broker Bernstein published on Monday, these companies are structuring treasuries around the second-largest cryptocurrency, staking assets to earn operating income while supporting the network’s financial base. While bitcoin (BTC) treasuries like Strategy’s (MSTR) favor liquidity and passive holding, ether treasuries are leaning into staking yields, currently just under 3%, though historically ranging between 3%–5%, the report noted.A $1 billion ether treasury could generate $30million–$50 million...

He characterized this pullback as a “final shakeout” before a longer-term rally resumes.Supporting the bullish outlook, institutional activity appears to be picking up. On-chain analysis service "Lookonchain" reported Monday that SharpLink Gaming (SBET), the Nasdaq-listed company that launched its ETH...
